This statistic displays the findings of a survey on the public opinion on the responsibility for a safe management of personal information online in the European Union (EU-28) as of March 2015, by party. When asked, who should have made sure that personal information is collected, stored and exchanged safely, 21 percent of respondents stated that the public authorities have to ensure that citizens' data is protected.
