Devices used to access the internet in the Netherlands 2022, by age

In 2022, more than 81 percent of individuals between 12 and 25 years in the Netherlands said they used internet on a laptop while respondents going online on their mobile phones in the same age group were more approximately 93 percent. Tablet usage in the examined period was especially low among younger respondents, with only approximately 33 percent of users aged between 12 and 25 years reporting using tablet devices to go online.

Search engines and online stores were the most visited website categories among Dutch users, highlighting that audiences in the Netherlands are making use of the internet’s functionalities for finding information and shopping. Among other useful or practical activities, online Dutch users seeking health information online have been growing in recent years: from approximately 52 percent in 2011 to 78 percent in 2022.
