Value of green financing by Europe's largest banks 2020
Many, but not all, of the largest European banks report and publish their "green financing" or "sustainable financing". Green financing refers to environmental issues, while sustainable financing refers to the broader range of sustainability issues, such as environmental, social, and governance (ESG). Deutsche Bank and HSBC did not specifically report their green financing value, but their sustainable financing, which for Deutsche Bank was around 35 billion euros. Highest among the largest European banks that specifically reported "green financing" was the value from Barclays, which reached almost 19.6 billion euros.
