Value of donor income among political parties in India FY 2018

The Narendra Modi-led BJP received the highest donor income that year amounting to about 1.7 billion Indian rupees compared to other political parties across India in financial year 2018. On the other hand, Congress received about 110 million rupees. It was legal for companies to give donations via electoral trusts. The trusts worked as a blind pool. Companies disclosed how much funding they provided, but the trusts were not required to specify which company had funded which party.
