Number of cities with bike sharing services in Japan FY 2013-2020
At the end of fiscal year 2021, around 170 municipalities in Japan had introduced bicycle sharing services, an increase by 6 cities compared to the previous year. Popular bike sharing services prevailing in the Japanese market include docomo bike share, a subsidiary of the mobile phone company NTT Docomo operating predominantly in Tokyo, as well as Hello Cycling, an affiliate of the holding company Softbank.
