Private health insurance coverage in Brazil 2023, by age group
As of December 2023, approximately 26 percent of the population in Brazil had private health insurance coverage. The highest share of individuals with private health insurance in the South American country were older than 80 years, with more than four in every ten privately insured by that time. Adults aged between 70 and 79 followed, with a private health insurance coverage of 32 percent. That year, the region with the highest share of people with private health insurance in Brazil was the Southeast.
