Greenhouse gas emissions in the Nordics 1990-2022, by country
The combined annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of the Nordic countries decreased by more than 25 percent from 2010 to 2022, to 240 MtCO₂e. Norway recorded the highest emissions within the region, with roughly 70 MtCO₂e emitted in 2022. Sweden ranked a close second, with 60.6 MtCO₂e. Meanwhile, Iceland's GHG emissions have remained more or less stable in the past three decades.
