Main reason for using smart beta ETF products worldwide 2020-2023

Professional investors cited several reasons why they would use smart beta exchange traded fund (ETF) in 2023, although the most common one was to mitigate risk. This differed from results from the 2022 survey, with only 22 percent of respondents listing this as their top reason. Smart beta funds differ from traditional exchange traded funds (ETFs) in that, while they track an index, they have an additional set of rules which guide which stocks from that index should be included in the portfolio at any given point in time.
