Paris Agreement goals: opinion on achievement in France 2020

Over 60 percent of French citizens do not believe that France will be able to meet the goals set by the Paris Agreements.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the main greenhouse gases. This gas, present in increasing quantities in the atmosphere, is responsible for global warming (its presence "traps" the heat reflected by the earth and results in an increase in temperature). The sources of CO2 emissions are mainly related to human activity (industrial activity, individual and goods transport, heating, deforestation, industrial animal husbandry, ...). In 2015, France signed the Paris Agreements and committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 40 percent by 2030 compared to 1990 and by 75 percent by 2050. These commitments aim to limit global warming to two degrees Celsius.

"Le dioxyde de carbone (CO2) est un des principaux gaz à effet de serre. Ce gaz, présent en quantité de plus en plus importante dans l’atmosphère, est responsable du réchauffement climatique (sa présence « piège » la chaleur renvoyée par la terre et a pour conséquence l’augmentation de la température). Les sources d’émission de CO2 sont principalement liées à l’activité humaine (activité industrielle, transports individuels et de marchandises, chauffage, déforestation, élevage industriel des animaux, …). En 2015, la France a signé les Accords de Paris et s’est engagée à réduire ses émissions de CO2 de 40% d'ici 2030 par rapport à 1990 et de 75% pour 2050. Ces engagements visent à limiter à 2°C le réchauffement climatique.
