South Africa has ordered 11 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccines as well as 20 million doses from Pfizer/BioNTech. Moreover, the country has reached an agreement with the United Nations-backed COVAX initiative to receive 12 million vaccine doses.
As of March 6, 2022, South Africa administered a total of roughly 32.03 million doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
