Transportation-related GHG emissions in the EU-27 1990-2022, by selected country
Germany is consistently the biggest contributor to transportation-related GHG emissions in the European Union. Nevertheless, the country reduced emissions from this sector by roughly 13 percent between 2000 and 2022, to 170 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e). In comparison, transportation emissions in Poland more than doubled over this period, to 73 MtCO₂e.
