Number of students in agricultural science/ agriculture Germany 2011-2023

In the winter semester of 2022/23, around 15,109 students in Germany were studying agriculture. This was a decrease compared to the previous winter semester. The timeline shows the number of students studying agricultural science or agriculture in Germany in winter semesters from 2010/11 to 2022/23. Winter semester starting times may differ in Germany depending on the type of higher education institution the course is taking place in and the federal state, but generally these semesters begin in October and finish at the end of March. The semester includes Christmas vacation and the so-called "lecture-free time" in February and March, during which students may combine vacation time, working on study projects and completing internships necessary for their course.
