Organic share of agricultural land area in Egypt 2000-2021
Organic agriculture covered slightly over three percent of the total farmland area in Egypt as of 2021. Compared to 2017, this was an increase from 2.8 percent. During the period reviewed, the share of agricultural land used for organic farming in the country generally increased over time. Organic vegetables were the crop type with the largest area allocated to organic agriculture in the country.
