Share of clothing made with synthetics from selected brands worldwide 2022
Synthetic fibers are man-made fibers, such as polyester and nylon, usually made from fossil fuels. They are far less bio-degradable than natural fibers and are a source of microplastics. Of the displayed brands, boohoo had the highest percentage of clothes containing synthetics, with 54 percent of their total collection. It should be noted that many other brands do not publicly disclose synthetic fiber volume figures.
