Average gas price on the exchange and OTC market in Poland 2019-2023

In the period under review, natural gas exchange prices in Poland were slightly lower than OTC prices. In the second quarter of 2023, prices in both markets increased by nine percent (contracts concluded on TGE) and nearly 10 percent (OTC sale transactions) year-over-year.

As the only licensed commodity exchange in Poland operating under the Act on Commodity Exchanges we hold a permit to operate a regulated market. TGE is supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority with regard to trading on the markets operated by the exchange, including the electricity, natural gas, property rights, CO2 emission allowances markets and – since 2020 – also agricultural and food commodities.
**Over-the-counter (OTC) or off-exchange trading or pink sheet trading is done directly between two parties, without the supervision of an exchange.
