In a survey conducted in July 2022 among online shoppers in Australia, just shy of 60 percent of those 16 to 24 years old reported buying an item from an international brand or retailer after seeing it on social media in the last year. In comparison, only 17 percent of online shoppers 55 years and older had purchased a product from an international brand after coming across it on social media.
