U.S.: barriers to enrollment in higher education for unenrolled men and women 2022
According to a survey conducted in 2022, more women than men said that the cost of the degree or program was a very important reason to why they are not currently enrolled in the United States, with 60 percent of surveyed women sharing this belief. Women were also more likely than men to say that emotional stress, childcare responsibilities, and personal mental health reasons were very important reasons as to why they are not currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program.
