Maritime cargo traffic of Port of Antwerp-Bruges (Belgium) 2009-2022
The total maritime cargo traffic of the Port of Antwerp generally increased between 2012 and 2021. In 2012, the maritime cargo traffic of the Port of Antwerp was just over 184 million tons, whereas in 2021, the maritime cargo traffic of the port had increased to almost 240 million tons. In 2022, the ports of Antwerp and Bruges finalized a merger and created the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The 2022 throughput of almost 287 million metric tons is thus a combined throughput for the two previously independent ports of Antwerp and Bruges.
