As of 2022, approximately 7.3 thousand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 3 to 6 years old were enrolled in a preschool program in the Australian state of New South Wales. In comparison, there were just 244 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children enrolled in preschool programs in the Australian Capital Territory.
