Apparel manufacture: monthly change in IPI in Turkey 2017-2023

This statistic shows the monthly change in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) of the manufacture of wearing apparel in Turkey from January 2017 to July 2023, compared to the same month of the previous year. Between June 2017 and May 2018, there was consecutive growth in the manufacture of wearing apparel industry. This positive trend mostly discontinued during the rest of 2018. During the earlier months of 2020 when the coronavirus crisis hit Europe, apparel manufacturing underwent significant decline. In April 2021, the Industrial Production Index showed a record growth of 158 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In July 2023, there was a negative growth of 5.6 percent.
The Industrial Production Index (IPI) measures the real output of manufacturing, mining and electric and gas supply industries.
