In 2021, the consumption value of food as well as non-food products in Italy are estimated to drop compared to 2020. In the first half of 2020, the consumption value of food experienced a significant increase compared to the previous year. More specifically, fresh products, fruit, and vegetables recorded an increase of 11.2 percent. Similarly, the consumption of ambient food and frozen food grew by nearly nine percent in 2020, whereas it is projected to decrease in 2021.
