Weekly Stockpiling Behavior Index for U.S. hoarding during COVID-19 2020

From the fourth week of 2020, when the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus pandemic a global public health emergency, stockpiling per U.S. household had increased signficantly, compared to 2019: the Numerator Stockpiling Behavior Index for hoarding increased from just over 100 index points (i.e., just over the base index) at the end of January to over 180 points by the middle of March. Over the course of the year, hoarding behavior decreased slowly but surely, even dropping below 90 points in the 50th week of 2020.
