Sales volume of physical and digital music singles in Germany 1999-2022
In 2022, 14.8 million digital music singles or tracks were sold in Germany, compared to 300,000 physical copies. While digital sales eclipsed physical singles almost during the whole observation period for this graph, the sales also fluctuated, with one of the possible reasons being the rise of music streaming services, which may reduce the number of listeners willing to pay for the music they listen to.
