In a survey conducted in ten Southeast Asian countries Between 2022 and 20232, a huge share of respondents across all countries saw unemployment and economic recession as the biggest challenge faced by the region in 2023. Around 76.8 percent of residents in Philippines perceived climate change challenges to be a bigger threat in 2023.
