Daily time spent online by youth in France in March 2022, by age
In the beginning of 2022, the "Centre national du livre" (CNL) launched a survery to examine the reading habits of the youth in France and to have a better understanding of their reading motivation or their lack of it. In this context, the respondents of the survey were also asked how many hours they are spending on the Internet during a day. A share of 65 percent of the respondents aged 7 to 19 years old claimed to spend more than an hour on the Internet per day, compared to 64 percent of the 20 to 25 year olds alone who spend three and more hours of daily time surfing on the web. According to the source, the average Internet time among the youth under 20 years old is also much lower with two hours and six minutes, compared to four hours and 38 minutes among young adults.
