Female top editors in news media worldwide 2020-2024, by market

A survey conducted in early 2024 found that as of February that year, 43 percent of top news editors in the United States were women. By contrast, in Mexico the share of top editors that were women was just six percent, faring the poorest in terms of gender representation and parity among all markets in the study aside from Japan.
