EU and UK gas imports from Russia weekly 2021-2023, by route
In the week 36, 2023, the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) received the largest volume of natural gas from Russia via the pipeline TurkStream, at 329 million cubic meters. The transit via Ukraine was the second major route, at 229 million cubic meters, which was a decrease compared to the previous week.
Nord Stream, which was the main export route of Russian gas to the EU and the UK until July 2022, was shut down for maintenance for 10 days from July 11, 2022, for three days from August 31, 2022, and for an indefinite period from September 5, 2022. Furthermore, Russia stopped supplying gas through the Yamal pipeline via Poland from mid-May 2022.
