Number of small towns specialized in snow and ice activities in China 2015-2020
In 2020, there were 47 so-called "ice-and-snow towns" in China, small towns with specialized commercial developments in snow and ice outdoor sports activities. In the past few years, with the increasing popularity of winter sports such as snow skiing and ice skating, more resorts and areas were built in China, intending to attract local enthusiasts and short-haul tourists.
