Caffeine content of coffees at the leading coffee shop chains in the UK 2023, by type
A February 2023 study looked at the caffeine content of coffees at selected leading coffee shop brands in the United Kingdom. Pret a Manger had the single-shot espresso with the highest level of caffeine at 180 milligrams. Meanwhile, Starbucks' single-shot espresso had only 33 milligrams of caffeine, although it was slightly smaller at 25 milliliters compared to Pret a Manger's 30 milliliters size. Comparatively, Costa's cappuccinos were the most caffeinated, while Starbucks' had the least amount of caffeine.
