Market size of q-commerce China 2020-2030

In 2022, China's quick commerce market totaled about 594.6 billion yuan. It was forecast that the market would grow at a CAGR of 25 percent from 2022 to 2030, reaching a market size of about 3.57 trillion yuan by 2030.

The adoption of q-commerce in China

Q-commerce, also known as quick commerce, is a new form of e-commerce. When compared to traditional e-commerce, q-commerce provides on-demand delivery within a short period of time, sometimes even less than 30 minutes. To make this possible, quick commerce providers often establish a network of stores and warehouses around residential areas. Once the order is received, the item is dispatched and transported by the last-mile delivery immediately. As of 2021, quick commerce has been adopted in most tier-1 and tier-2 cities in China, with more than 600 million users.

China’s leading q-commerce providers

In 2021, Meituan Shangou was China’s largest q-commerce platform, followed by JD Daojia and Ele.me. Meituan Shangou was launched in 2018 by China’s largest local service provider Meituan. Meituan Shangou currently operates in over 2,800 Chinese cities and towns, offering over a billion items daily.
