E-scooters in Germany by brand 2022
The most popular brand on the German e-scooter market in 2022 was Xiaomi. Close to a third of e-scooters insured in the country that year were made by the Chinese manufacturer. This was followed by the U.S. brand Segway-Ninebot, which accounted for a fifth of e-scooters in Germany.
Who owns e-scooters?
The vast majority of e-scooters in Germany are owned by men. Three quarters of insured e-scooters in 2022 were in the ownership of men. The age group most represented among e-scooter owners were 30 to 39 year-olds, who accounted for nearly a third of owners.
E-scooter sharing leaders in Europe
As of 2023, Germany was the third-largest market for e-scooter sharing in Europe, with a total revenue of close to 19 million euros. Italy was the leader on the continent, with a market value totaling nearly 56 million euros.
