Over half of the global outstanding loans and leases by the Bank of America in 2022 were in the commercial segment. Meanwhile, consumer loans and leases amounted to 456 billion U.S. dollars that year. That ratio has changed a lot in the past decade, as consumer loans made up the majority of the outstanding lending between 2013 and 2015. U.S. commercial lending and residential mortgages were the largest segments of the outstanding lending by Bank of America in 2022.
