The British company Lucozade offers consumers several varieties of soft drinks, but the most commonly consumed is Lucozade Energy. In 2022, an estimated 3.36 million people drank this product.
Originally named “Glucozade”, Lucozade was first created in 1927 and was used as a source of energy for people who were ill. Since 2013 it has been owned by the Japanese beverage company Suntory.
Recent published reports have also highlighted other health risks associated with energy drinks, such as high blood pressure, anxiety and insomnia.
