Number of households with cable TV in Germany 2008-2023

* Decrease first and foremost due to a changed projection base. The source adds the following: "The results of the 2011 census showed slight structural differences in the earlier extrapolation in reference to regional distribution, age and gender of the total population and the German population. (...) The number of households therefore decreased proportionately by 1.7 percent or 0.7 million."

Several reception routes are possible per household.
The source includes the following explanation: "As the record of the reception perspective in households with a TV is at the forefront of this survey, TV devices connected to a satellite master antenna system (SMATV) which require no separate receiver are counted as cable reception. TV devices with their own satellite receiver are counted as satellite reception. [...] Households with more than one transmission route for a TV signal were counted multiple times. The sum of all reception routes is more than 100 percent."
