The number of enterprises in the wholesale and retail trade industry incl. repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles in the Netherlands increased by 9,960 enterprises (+3.43 percent) since the previous year. While the growth in this industry is slowing down, with 300,053 enterprises, the number of enterprises is at its peak in the observed period.
In accordance with EU REGULATION (EC) No 250/2009 only companies are included here which were active during at least a part of the reference period. It also includes local units (branches) which do not constitute a separate legal entity and which are dependent on foreign enterprises.
