From 2012 to 2022, the number of cable TV subscriptions in Finland increased steadily each year. While in 2012 there were roughly 1.4 million subscriptions to cable TV, the number reached over 1.9 million in 2022. The majority of active cable TV subscriptions are purchased by Finnish households, however, the figures in this statistic also include company subscriptions.

"The reception of cable TV broadcasts requires a cable TV subscription. The figures describe the number of operators' customers with a cable TV subscription. However, not all households have a TV receiver."

"Because watching and listening to free-to-air terrestrial TV and radio broadcasts does not require a subscription, the statistics do not include them. Watching TV programmes with an internet browser installed on a computer or mobile device is also excluded from the statistics."
