Market share of fund initiators in Luxembourg 2023, by country of origin
Fund initiators in Luxembourg which originated from the United States had the highest market share in terms of net assets under management (AUM) of fund initiators in Luxembourg as of September 2023. U.S. fund initiators had a market share of 19.6 percent, followed by fund initiators from Great Britain, with a market share of 16.7 percent.
In the Global Financial Centers Index, Luxembourg was ranked as one of the most competitive financial center in Europe. In recent years, the Grand Duchy made efforts to diversify its financial activities in certain niches such as Chinese and Islamic finance, together with FinTech. Luxembourg's three traditional strengths, however, involve its activities in investment funds, banking and insurance.
