Ranking of non-alcoholic beverages brands in Norway 2020, by sales volume

Among the most popular non-alcoholic beverage brands based on the sales volume in Vinmonopolet stores in 2020, Oddbird Richard Juhlin Blanc de Blancs ranked first with nearly 58 thousand liters. It was ahead of brands as Thomas Henry Ginger Beer and Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water. Vinmonopolet is the government-owned alcoholic beverage retailer in Norway, selling non-alcoholic drinks as well. From 2010 to 2020, its sales volume of soft drinks increased steadily, peaking at 688 thousand liters by the end of this period.

 Leading soft drink brands in Systembolaget stores 

In Norway’s neighboring country Sweden, Systembolaget is the government-owned chain of liquor stores. Measured by sales volume in these stores, the leading non-alcoholic beverage brand was Nosecco. As of 2019, sales amounted to 203 thousand liters, and other popular non-alcoholic beverage brands include Jus de Pommes Artisanal Pétillant, Richard Juhlin Blanc de Blanc Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine and Carlsberg Alcohol free.  

 Norway’s international trade with non-alcoholic beverages

  Over the years from 2009 to 2019, Norway imported a continuously increasing value of non-alcoholic beverages into the country. According to preliminary figures for 2019, it peaked at approximately 1.9 billion Norwegian kroner. By comparison, its export value fluctuated strongly in the same period, amounting to 532 million Norwegian kroner in 2019.
