During the financial year ending March 2022/23, an average of 38,723 people were employed by Whitbread through all its business segments, including the hotel brand Premier Inn. In 2018, Whitbread sold its coffee shop business Costa to the Coca-Cola Company, resulting in a drop in employee numbers.
