When asked whether they preferred shopping at local shops or at large retail chains, the people of Spain consistently expressed their partiality towards larger chains throughout the years (between 2015 and 2022). Indeed, according to an annual survey, about six in ten Spaniards preferred making their purchases in large distribution chains rather than in local shops in 2020 and 2022.
