Share of female founders of startups in Brazil 2021, by ethnicity
In 2021, nearly 77 percent of women who had founded start-ups in Brazil were white. Meanwhile, Brazilians with mixed white-black ethnic ancestry or brown-skinned totaled 13.3 percent of female start-up founders. Other minorities represented only a small percentage of the total. Furthermore, health and biotech was the most popular sector among start-ups founded by women in Brazil.
