Ways of accessing e-books in the UK 2022, by age group
According to a survey held in 2022, consumers aged 12 to 15 years old were the least likely to purchase physical copies of e-books, whereas six percent of respondents in this age group had shared an e-book. The source defined e-book sharing as personally making the file publicly available, or sending or uploading
it online for someone else to download or stream or access. This was the least popular method of accessing e-books, with downloading and purchasing both proving to be more appealing options.
