In the Korean War, about 245 thousand civilians were killed on the South Korean side and about 282 thousand on the North Korean side.
As one of the largest proxy wars after the World War II, the Korean War began on June 25, 1950 and ended with an armistice in 1953. The Korean war ended with millions of causalities.
