Reasons for pursuing IT as a service (aaS) offerings globally 2021-2022
In 2022, around 80 percent of decision-makers from public and private sector organizations globally stated that a primary reason for pursuing as a service (aaS) offerings was that they needed to tactically address bursting, becoming the leading reason among decision-makers compared to the previous year. Bursting refers to the movement of an application from private data centers or private cloud to a public cloud when demand for computing capacity spikes. Other reasons included the shift from CapEx to OpEx or a lack of expertise to manage themselves.
