Female child labor in Africa 2021, by age
Girls are more likely to work during their childhood and adolescence than boys. Worldwide, 7.8 percent of girls aged five to 17 years are working. No region in the world has so many working children as Africa, especially Sub-Saharan Africa. This percentage is particularly high among the youngest age groups. As of 2021, two out of 10 children aged five to 14 years living in Africa were victims of child labor.
