Import value of major agricultural products in South Africa 2020, by commodity
Cereals were the leading agricultural product imported by South Africa. In 2020, the country imported the items worth 1.2 billion U.S dollars. Oilseeds as well as stimulants, tobacco, and spices followed as main imports: Each category with an export value of 915 million and 909 million U.S. dollars, respectively. In the same year, South Africa imported agricultural products totaling 5.3 billion U.S. dollars.
