Global mean steric sea height growth 2005-2023

Global sea surface height has increased at an average of 1.3 millimeters per year between 2005 and 2023, due to changes in temperature and salinity. In turn, in the first quarter of 2023, global sea surface was roughly 23.5 millimeters higher than in 2005. Steric changes accounted for roughly one-third of global sea level rise in the period.
