Quarterly unemployment figures in Spain 2005-2023

During 2020, the quarter that experienced the lowest number of unemployed people was the first one, before the outbreak of the pandemic, during which the amount of people without a job amounted to approximately 3.7 million. Afterwards, unemployment receded, and in the third quarter of 2023 the number of jobless people totaled 2.9 million. Spain saw the peak of jobless population during the first quarter of 2013, when people without work accounted for more than six million, which equated to an unemployment rate of 27 percent.
