In 2021, as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the influx of passengers at Jamaican cruise ports saw a substantial decline. The nation's primary cruise port, the Port of Ocho Rios, marked its lowest figures in at least four years, with fewer than 50 thousand arrivals in 2021, a stark contrast to the nearly 600 thousand visitors it hosted in 2019.
