Export value in Ukraine 2021-2023, by commodity
In 2023, the value of exports of agriculture products from Ukraine amounted to 22 billion U.S. dollars, making it the leading export category. Exports of ferrous and non-ferrous metals were the second-highest, worth around 3.9 billion U.S. dollars in the same year. This product category saw a sharp decrease in exports in 2022 compared to the previous year.
Agricultural export commodities of Ukraine
Wheat, maize, and barley are the main grain products exported from Ukraine. Furthermore, Ukraine is a major supplier of sunflower oil. In the marketing year 2024/25, its export volume of vegetable oils was expected to exceed six million metric tons, a decrease from the previous corresponding period.
Ukraine’s trade partners
As a region, Europe ranked first among Ukraine’s main trade partners by trade revenue share, at approximately 56 percent in 2023. It was followed by Asia, with a roughly 30-percent share. In terms of the value of exported goods, Poland, Romania, and China were the country’s leading export destinations. In 2023, Ukraine supplied merchandise worth over 4.4 billion U.S. dollars to Poland.
